The compounds in the bottle are laboratory-made. How pheromones affect humans, especially in a fragrance, is still an area of ongoing research. The science is not definitive.
People look up MAG for three reasons: what it is, whether it “works,” and whether the formula changed. This page answers those from the live product, not from forum memory.
What is in the current bottle
The live Max Attraction GOLD for Men page names the compounds in the blend: androstadienone, androstenone, alpha-androstenol, beta-androstenol and DHEA. No trademarked mystery mix. Those names appear in pheromone research. Appearing in research is not the same as proving a specific social outcome.

Did the MAG formula change?
Around 2012–2013, some long-time users wrote that later bottles smelled different or felt weaker than bottles they remembered from a few years earlier. A few mentioned label or packaging differences between orders. Those posts are still easy to find.
At the time, Luvessentials said the formula had not changed.

Choose GOLD if you want one spray and a finished scent. Choose Max Attraction for Men - Unscented if you already have a cologne and do not want MAG’s fragrance in the way. The unscented page describes it as the same flagship blend without the cologne. “Unscented” means no fragrance was added; the compounds themselves can have a faint musk that usually fades on skin.
You do not need both. Pick the job: a finished scent, or a layer under yours.
